The Esterlina Vineyard, a sloped and south facing ridge-top planting high above Anderson Valley at 1,200 foot elevation, produces Pinot noir with extraordinary complexity, depth and grace.

This 2009 selection we named "Reserva" displays an extravagance of fruit balanced with striking elegance in structure. Intense aromas of deep ripe cherry coated with spiced dark chocolate evolve into flavors in the mouth replete with blackberry preserves, cola, toffee and allspice. Beneath a superbly rich and satiny texture, its persistent acid forms a vibrant core that extends to the polished finish.

An age worthy Pinot, this wine will continue to improve with cellaring for five to eight years.

An ideal pairing for this stylish Pinot would be seared duck breasts with fig chutney.

The 2007 Cole Ranch Reserva has raspberry, cherry and floral scents. Although there is plenty of ripe cherry, strawberry and cola flavor, it is a lush, elegant, Pinot Noir. We think it is drinking quite well now, but given this vineyard�s history, expect it to become even better over time.

2009 Everett Ridge/Esterlina Anniversary Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley

The 2008 Esterlina Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir exhibits a complex array of fruit flavors, straddling the boundary between red and black fruit characteristics. The aroma is redolent with strawberry puree and black cherry preserves, complemented by allspice and vanilla. The fruit lifts and expands across the palate with fine, well-integrated tannins. From smooth entry to lingering finish, the velvety texture is featured throughout the mouth feel. This wine would pair well with braised pork with fruit compote or silky glazed salmon. Sufficiently supple to enjoy now and will develop more complexity in the bottle for three to five years.

The 2009 Esterlina Vineyard Pinot Noir exhibits the deep, dark fruit characters of the Anderson Valley with exquisite style and finesse. The complex aromas display high-toned cherry spiced with mocha, cardamom, star anise and allspice. Laden with juicy black cherry and plum, its expressive flavors persist on the palate with intensity, brightness and fine-tuned balance.

Drink now or allow additional complexity to develop by cellaring for five to six years. Enjoy with tea-smoked duck or grilled salmon with a balsamic glaze.

Situated at high-elevation, on a western-facing slope of Sonoma Mountain, the Janian Vineyard experiences a cool microclimate imposed by the coastal influence from the summer fog and winds sweeping from the Pacific Ocean through the Petaluma Wind Gap.

This Janian Vineyard Syrah displays the impressive power and subtle intensity of wines made from cool-climate Syrah grapes. It exhibits its aromatic complexity with exotic Moroccan spices, white pepper, sandalwood, cocoa and tobacco. Deep and rich fruit is lush and silky on entry, progressively unfolding its layers of flavors suggestive of smoky bacon, leather, black raspberry and anise.

This meaty wine begs to be paired with charcuterie. Try it with smoked sausages or anything wrapped in pancetta (especially quail!).

The Esterlina Janian Vineyard Syrah is immediately enjoyable, but has considerable aging potential if you choose to cellar for up to ten or more years.

With subtlety and style, this 2008 Esterlina Cabernet Sauvignon leaves a lasting impression.

Dried cherry, cassis and chocolate saturate the wine's aroma. From its entry to its long finish, this wine unfolds in the mouth with a layered complexity of flavors.

True to its Alexander Valley origins, this Cabernet Sauvignon from the Lazy S Vineyard is structured, yet rich and smooth with powder-fine tannins.

This wine will surely bring out the sweet succulence of lamb chops.

Though sufficiently supple to enjoy now, this is an age worthy Cabernet Sauvignon; cellar for six to eight years.

2007 Esterlina Vineyards Merlot Cole Ranch The 2007 Esterlina Vineyards Cole Ranch Merlot offers a remarkable balance of intensity and elegance. The concentrated dark berry aroma is spiced with sweet oak characters of cocoa, cloves and allspice. The wine enters with bright and tightly focused fruit and explodes across the palate with cherry-infused ripeness. It finishes with a long lingering impression of its lushness and luxurious smoothness.

Enjoy our supple Cole Ranch Merlot with a creamy pate, a rich sheep milk cheese gratin, or a grilled sirloin of beef. A lively complement to its fruity spiciness would be mu shu pork with hoisin sauce.
